A Welsh family firm that grew from a two-man partnership into a fully accredited contractor trusted by councils, schools, national institutions and businesses.

Our story
Two founders, one name, six decades.
The company is run today by Iwan Jones, son of co-founder Oscar Bowen Jones, and Marc Hughes, who joined as an approved electrician before becoming a Director.

1963
Founded as a partnership between Mr Oscar Bowen Jones and Mr Frederick Whitehead.

1965
Jones & Whitehead became a member of the NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting).

1971
In August, Jones & Whitehead became a limited company, with Mr Jones and Mr Whitehead as Company Directors.

1989
Mr Whitehead retired and Mr Iwan B. Jones became a Company Director alongside his father, Mr Oscar B. Jones.

2002
Mr Marc Rhys Hughes was promoted from approved electrician to Director.

2004
Mr Oscar B. Jones retired in July. The company continues under Iwan B. Jones and Marc R. Hughes.

Members, approved, carded.
Jones & Whitehead are members of the ECA (Electrical Contractors' Association), Constructionline and CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme), and an NICEIC Approved Contractor.
ECS cards for every member of staff
All members of staff hold current Electrotechnical Certification Scheme cards affiliated to CSCS.
Certified to BS 7671
We issue certification using the latest software on all electrical works we complete, where required.

NICEIC, NAPIT, MCS, TrustMark, RECC, CHAS and Constructionline.
